Cristie Serber, RMT graduated with honours from Georgian College's fast track Massage Therapy program in December 2010 and has been registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) regulatory body and practicing since July 2011. Cristie has since received special training in Indie Head Massage, Aromatherapy, Hot Stone and Cupping Therapy. Cristie opened Healica Massage Therapy Barrie in 2015 and Orillia in 2017. Her treatment interests include manual lymphatic drainage, fibromyalgia and massage therapy treatment for autism. Cristie strives to achieve wellness personally and professionally, and is forever excited to gain and share knowledge in the healthcare industry. Cristie and her team began an exciting new indevour in 2022 by launching continued education courses available at Healica's Orillia location.

Cupping can be used to treat many different types of conditions including; Chronic pain, arthritis, headaches and migraines, hypertension, restricted range of motion, anxiety and depression, fertility complications, fibromyalgia, constipation and bronchial congestion, and lymphatic drainage. During your treatment your therapist will use cups to apply 3 different techniques: stationery, fast and gliding cupping to achieve your individual goals.

Once applied the cups can reach up to 4 inches beneath your skin. They can draw toxins up to the surface of the skin where the lymphatic system can remove them from the body. Cupping increases the circulation of blood through the muscles to release tensions and trigger points, congestion in the tissues, and adhesions in connective tissue.
